Norma Jo Day, 87, of Harrisburg, formerly of Marked Tree, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at St. Bernards Hospital. She was born September 6, 1933 in Keiser, AR to George and Nora Jane (Amos) Scull. She worked as a factory worker and laundress until retiring. She was a member of Neiswander Baptist Church and loved shopping, playing cards and most of all, spending time with her family.
Norma Jo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over 50 years, Claude Day; a daughter, Janet Carroll; a grandson, Brandon Day; two brothers and seven sisters.
Those left behind to cherish her wonderful memory include her daughter, Brenda (Phillip) Tucker; four grandchildren, Markus Carroll, Jessica Hannah, Tara Jo Hannah and Kim Pierce; six great-grandchildren, Charli, Marissa, Aubri, Eli, Bryce and Casen; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro with Rick Kimery officiating. Burial will follow at Marked Tree Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 1 pm until time of service. The body will be lying in repose from 9 am until 1 pm for those who are unable to attend, but would like to sign the guest book.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arkansas Food Bank or to your favorite charity.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance while observing social distancing guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.
I am very sorry to find that my very good friend has passed away. She was a very dear and kind lady. A true friend to me. May God bless her soul. Robert J. Lindley.

So many wonderful memories of Sunday afternoons that our families spent together at Aunt Iva Jean and Uncle Wayne's house. I'll always remember her laugh; it was great.

Jo was married to my Uncle Claude and was a wonderful person. She was always cheerful and just great to be around. Me and my remaining family will miss her always.
