We have lost a great lady, someone who really did care about Clinton and the County. I remember talking to Anita on a visit back to Clinton and asked her why she moved back home and she said the biggest reason was that she wanted her son to be able to grow up in a smaller town with a closer community like she did. Anita, wanted a paper like the old "Clinton Paper" was before it was taken over by the national conglomerates, One that kept the local feel and historical community news and focused more of the local issues and not the way the national editorial boards wanted to push them. She was the best of us.

Anita was a sweet, private woman who was hard to get to know. But she was worth the investment. She was also relentlessly positive, in a profession where cynicism can be a disease. I loved every moment of working with her.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Anita's family, not only today but the weeks to follow. We are sorry for your loss. Anita was a wonderful Lady. We enjoyed our paper we received each week. The community has lost a great Lady that believed in her small town, which she shared with others with great pride through the pages of "The Voice of Van Buren County". May God bless each of you.

Total shock when I heard the news. She was an important part of the community and a great advocate for the animals, which is how I met her. I would take her the shelter dog pictures and she would run them in the paper to help find homes. She also helped Gary's adoptable dogs a great deal. She will always be remembered as a good caring person. My heart goes out to her family, the loss will be felt for a long time.

I was upset when I heard of Anita's passing. We will miss her so very much. She has been a foundation for this community with a newspaper that is accurate and honest. We depended on her and she will be hard to replace. My condolences to the family and I wish I could attend her service but I'll be having knee surgery but my prayers will be with the family.
