Peggy Rose McElveen passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at age 87. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, James E. McElveen and her parents, Curtis E. and Myrtice M. Pennington. She leaves behind one son, Thom Rayne, one grandson, Timothy McElveen, one great-grandson, Jacob McElveen, and many long-time friends from Archview Baptist Church and Life Line Baptist Church.
Peggy was active in all her churches from an early age, serving as the primary church pianist in each of them for over 40 years. She loved to travel and enjoyed many adventurous trips with James as they explored the Eastern United States in their R/V. Before retiring, Peggy worked in banking, real estate, and insurance variously as executive secretary, computer data entry clerk, and office manager, among other positions. Since retiring, she enjoyed a number of years traveling before health issues limited her activities outside the home.
Visitation will be from 3-7 pm, Sunday, November 22, 2020, in the Garden Room at Roller Chenal Funeral Home with services following 10:30 am, Monday, November 23, at Life Line Baptist Church. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

Thom cuz......I love you an I am thinking of you, missing you an praying for you. You know how much I loved your Mom an Dad. Aunt Peggy an Uncle Buddy as well as you have been in my life all my life an I have been blessed with some memories through the years that I will cherish forever. They loved the Lord, each other, you an family deeply an were an example of it all through their lives. They will be missed an I know for you this has been extremely difficult due to covid-19. Seems it was just the other day Uncle Buddy was called home but at least you an all of us we're able to be with him. I know your mother loved you very much......you could see it in her little face an watch her eyes light up everytime you were with her. I loved her sweet little smile an soft giggle focusing on you as we all visited back when we could. I don't doubt for a moment that even if the situation was puzzling or confusing to her in her last days she knew your love for her an hers for you.
