of Mountain View, AR
February 23, 1942 - November 15, 2020
Steve William Mitchell, better known as S.W., 78, of Mountain View, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs Arkansas. S.W. was born on February 23, 1942 to Walter and Nellie (Deatherage) Mitchell in Fifty-Six, Arkansas.
S.W. married the love of his life Jeraldine Fletcher on September 16, 1959 at the edge of a Cotton Field near Monette, AR. From there they built an amazing life together for the next 61 years celebrating faith, family, friends, and fishing. And let's not forget a good car deal.
In 1971 SW started Mitchell's Used Cars and was in business for almost 50 years making many friends along the way. Late night car auctions with friends were the norm. He always enjoyed the smiles and laughter that took place in the car lot office. You were guaranteed to find a good fishing story and a stick of spearmint gum in every conversation. SW was saved when he was 16 yrs. old. He lived his faith; you could see the Lord in everything he did.
S.W. was preceded in death by his parents Walter Mitchell and Nellie Deatherage Mitchell Conway, his stepfather Hubert Conway, brothers Hale, Slown, and Tommy Mitchell and Gary Conway, daughter Patricia Nishiuchi and son in law Roger Marshall.
S.W. is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years Jeraldine (Fletcher) Mitchell. Two sons Rick Mitchell and wife Tina of Mountain View, David Mitchell, and wife Shelia of Fox. One daughter Paula Marshall of Mountain View. Son in law Takumi Nishiuchi of Stamps, AR. Grandkids Steve Mitchell and wife Ashley, Chris Marshall and wife Emily, Noriko Cheatham and husband Matt, Koji Nishiuchi, Jesse Marshall, Laurel Israel and husband Nick, Tai Nishiuchi, Ali Nishiuchi, Echo Mitchell, Darcy Moser and husband Cameron, Dannielle May and Michael.
