Martha King

of Harrisburg, AR

July 8, 1937 - November 9, 2020

Martha King, 83, of Marvell, Arkansas passed away peacefully Monday, November 9, 2020 in Harrisburg, Arkansas surrounded by her family. She was born July 8, 1937 in Spiro, Oklahoma to the late Audrey Jobe Hickman and Dave Jobe.

Heaven gained one of the most beautiful angels this afternoon. Granny, we love you so much but you're with Jesus now.

If you knew Martha King, you loved her. She was fierce. She was bossy. She was sassy. But, she loved everyone. She loved her grandkids and her great-great grandkids. Most importantly, She loved Jesus.

Her favorite color was red. She loved red lipstick, red clothes and her nails were painted red. Because her baby's favorite color was red. She loved getting her hair done on Thursdays!! She loved drinking coke and eating peanut butter on absolutely anything! I always asked her how she did it. She loved Ramon noodles and making deviled eggs. She always made me get in the kitchen and help her! I remember taking her on her first side by side ride to the park. She was kind of dizzy afterwards and would rather catch a ride home!! But I know she secretly had fun;)
she also attended Cypert Church of Christ in Marvell, Arkansas and later attended Harrisburg Church of Christ in Harrisburg, Arkansas. She enjoyed cooking and playing with her grandchildren.

We're going to miss her so much, but we know she's in a better place and no longer suffering.
She was one in a million. She was a good granny. She was the best granny.
Love you so much granny King.
07/08/1937 - 11/09/2020

She is survived by three sons, James Ray Hickman (Debra) of Postelle, Arkansas, Holly Hickman (Carol) of Aubrey, Arkansas and Frank Holiday of Bismarck, Arkansas; two daughters, Charlotte Grider (Don) of Marvell, Arkansas and Ellen Farmer of Rison, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; three brothers Jimmy Skelton (Kathy) of Idaho, Lester Skelton (Debbie) of Texas and William Hickman (Sarah) of Oklahoma; two sisters, Shirley Wiley (John) of Oklahoma and Patty Varner (Walter) of Poplar Grove, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Dedy King; one daughter, Susie King Holiday; one sister, Kathy Graham; four brothers, Charles Skelton, Jerry Ray Hickman, Curtis Hickman and infant brother Hickman.

A graveside service for Martha King will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 13, 2020 at Smalley Cemetery in Connells Point, Arkansas. Brother Mark Spencer will officiate.

RIP sweet Granny Martha. You and your entire family mean the world to our family. Even though we aren't blood relatives we are still family. You taught my Mom so much she said, when she was young raising us and you always treated us like we were family, and your children treated us that way as well and still do. Love you all!!

To my sweet second Mom. I loved you big. We’ve had many discussions about all kinds of topics. You were the best of friends with my mom and she loved you like a sister. Oh the projects you two could get into. I’m sure she welcomed you with open arms. You told me once you’d be cooking in Heaven so I hope that is exactly what you are doing now. I will miss you until I see you again. ❤️❤️❤️
