John Michael "Mike" Hardage, 71, passed away October 23, 2020, at his home in West Memphis, Arkansas.
He was born January 2, 1949 to Glaze and Doris Shuffield Hardage in Bismarck, Arkansas. He attended Henderson State College and graduated with a Master's Degree in Education. In his chosen field, Mike accepted positions as football coach, teacher and later, principal. After moving to West Memphis, Mike altered his professional career to enter into his passion for antiques and woodworking. This led him into owning and operating Mike's Antiques, where he collected, restored, refinished and sold furniture. He expanded his business in antiques as a partner in the management of the Memphis Flea Market and later started the Mid-South Flea Market in Southaven, Mississippi. He was also a property owner and loved working on his rental homes. With all of his business adventures, Mike found time to serve his community, working many years on both the West Memphis School Board and West Memphis City Council. Mike loved watching football and was known as a caring person always seeing to the needs of friends and family.
He is survived by two sons whom he loved dearly, Glaze Hardage (Tera) and Macauley Hardage (Keri); and one brother, Jim Hardage (Sandra), of Bismarck, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Norma Hardage.
The family will receive visitors to a Celebration of Life service on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at 6:00 pm, being held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Arkansas. A memorial service will also be held in Bismarck, Arkansas at a later day.
Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will be following guidelines issued by the local Department of Health and the CDC regarding COVID-19. Social distancing of at least six feet must be practiced and all funeral attendees must provide and wear their own masks.
I don’t believe I ever saw Mike when he wasn’t smiling...and his smile was even broader when his sons were by his side. Mike will be missed by so many, my condolences to the family.
I was glad I got to thank him before he passed. He helped me more than anyone can comprehend. Prayers for the family.

So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. He was a really great guy. Always enjoyed my visits with him while servicing the technology at Wedlock.

Mike were my one of my favorite coaches at Forrest City High school . I always thought that he went to Hendrix college May GOD continue to BLESS and give the family strength each day as times goes by !!! R.I.L. Coach Mike Hardage !!!
He will be missed!! In our few short visits, It was evident that he created a strong legacy to be passed to his sons. We are sorry that our time with him was short. We are sad to say goodbye but thankful for the promise of life everlasting in Jesus. Eric and I are praying for comfort and peace.

Mike was a part of my growing up on Rich Road. He was there all the time great friend of my dads. I will always see him at the bar when I walk in with my dad! Sorry for your loss but I love what you said He deserves peace!
