of Wynne, AR

May 16, 1937 - October 23, 2020

Esther Louise Davis, 83, passed away October 23, 2020 at the Conway Regional Hospital in Conway, Arkansas. She was born on May 16, 1937 in Parkin, Arkansas, to Frank and Esther Butler Davis.

She attended Arkansas State University where she obtained her Bachelor's and Master's in English at a time where women were just beginning to continue their studies past high school. She taught English for a few years before she began at the Arkansas Employment Security Division where she worked for thirty years until retirement. She valued education above all and enjoyed all aspects of travel.

Louise was a faithful member of the Wynne Presbyterian Church of Wynne where she attended regularly until her stroke in March of 2017. She was a resident of the Village Park Assisted Living center in Conway, Arkansas where she loved to play bingo and attend in-house church services until her death.

She is survived by her niece, Stephanie (Anthony) Davis; her great-niece, Blakely Davis; her friend and caretaker, Bobby Miller; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her life companion W.C. Mashburn; and brother, Jimmy Davis.

Aunt Goo, which she was called by her niece, lived life to the fullest. She loved fiercely and knew how to get things done. There will never be another one like her.

Because of the indoor COVID-19 limitations, masks shall be worn and social distancing guidelines will be enforced. Funeral services will be held at the Wynne Presbyterian Church, on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 10 am. Interment in Cogbill Cemetery to follow.

Memorials can be sent to the Wynne Presbyterian Church, 1735 E Poplar Avenue, Wynne, AR 72396.

Roller-Citizens Funeral Home will be following the guidelines issued by the local Department of Health and the CDC regarding COVID-19. Social distancing of at least six feet must be practiced and all funeral attendees must provide and wear their own masks.
