Albert Wayne Childers (Bud), 74, of Cabot, AR, went to be with our Lord and Savior, October 21, 2020. He served in the US Marine Corps from 63-67 and with 1st BN/9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam reaching the rank of Corporal. Awards include: Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam- Gallantry Cross, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Certificate of Commendation- two awards, and Rifle Expert Badge.

He was a kind hearted person who enjoyed casinos, horse races, watching movies, spending time with family, and traveling. He was a lifelong Arkansas Razorback fan.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 43 yrs, Reda Carol Childers; parents, William Albert Childers and Louise Traffanstedt; in-Laws, Cecil and Willie McGinty; his brother, James Childers, and sisters, Jimmye Redmond and Martha McGinty.

He is survived by his children, Angela Clavey (David), Sandy White (Roger), Darrell Childers, Tammy Childers and Stephanie Childers; 8 Grandchildren, Kyra Clavey, Misty Stafford (Corey), Chris ''˜Nikki' White, Brittanie Carson (Jimmy), Kaitlyn Childers, Shayla McPherson, Dayden Colton and Zara Childers; 5 great-grandchildren, Kaidence, Kaelynn and Kameron Stafford and Bradley and Wyatt Carson; and many extended family and friends.

He will be cremated and a Memorial service will be announced at a later date. Cremation will be handled by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.

I have known Bud for a long time since my daughter was his daughter in law. I have never seen him meet a stranger. He made me feel weicome the day I met him
He is so loved by many and will truly be missed. I know his reunion with Reda was a special one. Rest in love Bud!!

I had the privilege of knowing Bud and getting to spend time with him over the years with David, Angela, Kyra and the rest of their family. Bud was a wonderful, loving man and is dearly missed already. My heart goes out to his entire family and we are holding you all in our thoughts and prayers. We love you guys and loved your sweet Bud. He always put a smile on my face and knew how to tell some good jokes. RIP Bud until we meet again. Heaven gained one special angel with this man!!!

We will forever miss Uncle Bud. He used to always tell me "She's got freckles on her but she's pretty"....I would always say, "I don't have freckles on my butt"...I do have them everywhere else though...lol....Took me a long time to realize what he was saying....I love you uncle Bud, see you soon in the clouds. I will always cherish all of the many many memories I was lucky enough to make with Uncle Bud. I can't imagine what my life would have been like if he & aunt Reda hadn't been there for me they were my second parents & so much more. I am so lost for words! I love him so much. I know he is reunited with mom and so many other family members now. He is not in pain anymore and happy, but it hurts! I miss him already!
