I was privileged to play on a football team with Mack at Clarksville High School for two seasons, 1959 and 1960. Mack was an offensive lineman and the best one I ever played with, Our coaches would show us game film on Mondays' of the game played the previous Friday. We would single Mack out by his number #64, and the coaches would remark, "just watch and tell me if you see the player he is
assigned to block make a tackle". It NEVER happened. He would take on the best on the opposing team and legally block him until the official blew his whistle, signaling the end of that play. I never observed a close 2nd to Mack Landthrip, as an offensive lineman. A great guy on top of that. He had no idea just how good he really was in football. The '59 team won 12 games & lost 0. Mack was selected All-State and played in the Arkansas High School Allstar Game in Little Rock.

Sally and I have been saddened by Mack’s passing. We know that he fought a valiant battle with serious health issues this past year or so but no one would sense that because of his brave determination. We will sincerely miss Mack among our WestArk Care Group #1. May our Holy Father welcome Mack’s soul into His presence and His Holy Spirit comfort his family and friends with that promised assurance. In Jesus’ Name.
I have thought of you all daily, and reflected on the fruit of your father in those that he raised. Mack and Sheila have been a blessing to our family for many years. I pray you all are comforted by his spirit and look forward to the gathering again of your family.

Mack was a true friend. I always admired his athletic skills and his way with people. He was there for you when you needed a friend. We used to go skating at the Russellville skating rink on the weekends while in high school. He was a lot of fun to be around. A good man and a great family man. "Mac you were the best" Johnny
