Mrs. Rutledge and Mrs. Harmon were my first colleagues on my 43-year teaching journey. Iola was a joy to work with and kept us laughing in the teacher’s lounge with her delightful sense of humor. I know her family will miss her terribly and I hope they find much comfort in their memories. RIP, Mrs. Rutledge.

Mrs. Rutledge was a life influencer for me! She taught me English in grades 4-6, taught me piano lessons during junior high and was my business and yearbook sponsor in my high school years! She always taught STUDENTS rather than curriculum and that is one reason I loved her so much!

I was blessed to be the teacher of her grand son many years after she inspired me to be an educator!

Prayers for her family!
