Belma Lou Treat, age 69 of Big Flat, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, October 12th, 2020 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born in Marshall, Arkansas on October 12th, 1951 to Ellis Martin and Alma House Martin.

Belma has been a dedicated Christian since she was saved as a young girl. She was active in the Big Flat Assembly of God Church and the Big Flat community for over 50 years.
She taught at Mountain View Middle School for 38 years retiring in 2016. Generations of students remember her sweet nature and energetic teaching style. Belma saw the good in people and was good to people. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and much more. Many were blessed by her light.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Dennis Treat of the home; two sons, Mark Treat of Springfield and Luke Treat and wife Laura of Lone Rock; grandchildren, Noah Treat, Eli Treat, Tyler Treat, Baylor Treat, Ellis Treat, Hazel Jane Treat and Stonewall Treat; two brothers, Gary Martin and wife Glenda of Mountain View and Randy Martin of Timbo; and many other extended family and friends who will also mourn her passing.

Belma is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Alma Martin; one grandchild, Adam Treat; and brother, Travis Martin.

Graveside services for Belma will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 at Big Flat Cemetery in Big Flat, Arkansas with Bro. Darin Holliman and Bro. James Foster officiating. Pallbearers will be Luke Treat, Mark Treat, Dennis Treat, Doug Treat, Gary Martin, Randy Martin, Terry Treat, Jimmy Treat and David Treat.

Please bring a chair as seating is limited at the graveside service. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are practicing social distancing at our graveside services and all patrons are required to wear a mask. So Sorrow for your loss, Belma , is a wonderful lady, she was my son school teacher, she really loved children, even though my son been out of school, she would ask about him & my other son. I would talk to usually at Wal-Mart, & visit a little bit. She is going to be so greatly missed, she was so loved by anybody that knew her.
