George C. Ward, Jr., 85, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away at his home on October 9, 2020. He was born in Henderson, Tennessee on July 3, 1935, the son of George and Pauline (Polly) Ward.
He is survived by his spouse of 62 years, Patty Wood Ward; three children, Melinda Szathmary (Laszlo), George Calvin Ward, III and Kerry Ward (Laura); sister, Jean Carolyn Ellis; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
George proudly served in the U.S. Army and upon his return to the States he married the love of his life, Patty. They moved to Helena in 1963, where George made his career with the Dixie Furniture Company as a credit manager.
George was a wonderful father and a devoted member of Twin City Church of Christ. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
A memorial service for George Ward, Jr. will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Helena.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Twin City Church of Christ in West Helena.

Pat, I am so sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed our visits when I was back in West Helena. George was always an inspiration to me because of the way he handled all the difficulties he had with his heart.
