Lowell Wayne Whitby, 81, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on October 5, 2020, in his home. He was born January 30, 1939 to J. C. and Hellen Whitby, in Covington, Tennessee.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Billie Sue Whitby.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Angie Smith (Thor); his five grandchildren, Christy Piercey, Matthew Piercey, Matthew Smith (Maria), Zachary Smith, and Alyssa Smith; an expected great grandchild very soon; and his honorary son, Hong Lim.

Lowell served his country honorably in the U. S. Navy, and was an active Mason. He was the proud owner of Bartlett Refrigeration. Lowell was an avid reader, and enjoyed the great outdoors with hunting and collecting firearms.

Daddy, I am so glad that I was given the last few years with you. The challenges you and I faced were difficult and I pray that I didnt disappoint you. I hope Mama was waiting for you with her glowing smile and cornflower blue eyes. We found your bible that gave us the reassurance that we were praying for. Farewell and following seas. Until we meet again.
Love, Your brown eyed girl
