Grandpa Cato helped structure what patience, hardwork, and love look like to me. I have so many beautiful memories of running around the house in Conway and the sound of Grandpa’s laugh. I think his laugh was and will forever be my favorite. I love you, Grandpa. I miss you.

Some people carve out a special place in our heart that cherishes them forever. Uncle Lucian was always bringing cheer to our home and I remember him coming in at the sliding glass door, calling me "Connie Jean," clear-eyed and big smile, always reminding us "things could have been worse." The worst is him leaving and the best is knowing without doubt he is with our Savior.

There was not a finer man on this earth. When he walked in the door of our house in Mesilla Park, our whole world opened up to laughter and joy. I remember those times around the kitchen table as if it was yesterday. My mom (Alice Beyer) was his little sister. Uncle Lucian was her hero.

Lucian was one of the blessings that came to me when I married into his brother's family. Given my career in the Army, my conversations with Lucian were both brotherly and nefew-in-lawish. One special visit Paula and I had with Lucian was in the 90s when we stayed with him and Freda at their home in Las Cruses NM. Lucian was serious but also full of humor. I laughed at Lucian harder than ever the evening shared with him and his sister Carmarita's family. Lucian's service to the USA at White Sands Missle research base was above and beyond, while being a servant to his families throughout his life was remarkable. Perhaps we will share more time again one day. Loves Lucian. Loves Mona Lou and all.

Grandpa’s favorite verse, John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You’re the love of my life and don’t you forget it; I love you so much and I’m going to see you and Grandma again soon.

Uncle Lucian was a good and decent man. I spent a lot of great times with Him over the years...

My prayers go out to the families. I'm sorry I didn't get to see him as much in the last few years.

I know he loved the Lord and he's resting in the arms of Jesus now.
