Jewell Alyene Hicks, 80, of Bay, passed away Monday, October 5, 2020 at her home. She was born February 5, 1940 in Carryville, AR to Carmon and Grace (O'Bryan) Jones. Mrs. Hicks was a supervisor at Rector Sportsware and retired with 20 years of service at St. Bernards. She was a member of the County Line Church of Christ and loved shopping, yard sales, baseball and going to see her boys play.

Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Gary Avery, Bruce Avery, Tony Avery; her brothers, Eugene Jones, Dotson Jones and Denzil Jones; a sister, Pat Hill; and grandsons, Shane Avery and Matt Avery.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 34 years, Donald Hicks; a son, Barry (Darlene) Avery; three grandchildren, Bridget Avery, Jason Avery, and Kaylee Calvin; great grandchildren, Catelyn, Breona, Avery, Aubreigh, Sawyer, Kaden, Austin, Hudson, Lawson, Kaycen, Karcyn, Kobin, Kordin and Kamden; one great-great grandchild Ryleigh; one brother, Butch Jones and three sisters, Maxine Gray, Carolyn Fearn and Janice Jones.

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday at County Line Church of Christ with Allen Ashlock officiating. Interment will follow at 2 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Rector.

Visitation will begin at 10 am until time of service.

The body will lie in state Thursday afternoon from 3 pm to 5 pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 West Washington Avenue in Jonesboro for those who would like to pay their respects.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance while observing social distancing guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear masks upon entering and while in the building.
