David Virgil Garrett, 76, of Bryant, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday morning, September 27, 2020. He was born on March 20, 1944 in Conway to Virgil Haskell and Christine Sturgeon Garrett.
David was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and friend to many. He enjoyed playing all kinds of card and board games, especially for family get-togethers. He cherished his time with his family and was an all-around friendly man and conversationalist. Hunting and fishing were some of his favorite outdoor activities and you could say in whatever he did, he never met a stranger. He will be missed, but his memory will be cherished and his legacy will continue on through those who loved and cared for him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary Katherine Sue Garner Garrett, and his stepfather, James Black.
He is survived by his wife, Frankie ''Janet'' Garrett, his daughters, Dena Kay Garrett, of Morrilton, and Linda Huffman and her husband, David, of Oakland, Tennessee; sons, David ''Allen'' Garrett and his wife, Alice, of Bryant, and Jimmy ''Dyrel'' Hicks and his wife, Patti; his brother, Dwight Garrett, and his wife, Lois; sisters, Faye Price and Dorothy Ryall; stepmother, Eva Garrett, half-sister, Vickie Mullins; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many other extended family members and friends of his family.
A time of general visitation will be Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the family present from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, 650 Central Landing, Conway. Interment will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
A time of general visitation will also be Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 100 people at one time in both the Roller-McNutt and Roller-Alcoa facilities. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

We have been praying for comfort for the entire family that only our Lord can provide. Uncle David I’ll always remember your love for fishing, where you’re going those lakes will be stocked well...
We will miss you David and I will miss your game playing and especially the time you,Janet and Wanda came to visit us and got iced in and had to stay several days and we played lots of games. It was a fun times. Praying for all of you Family and my heart is with you!!
I have loved this family my entire life!! Lots of great memories!! David was such a sweet man!! One memory I have that I always thought I was special because when We would go out to the gas station on hwy 35... he would always sneak me A piece of 1¢ bubble gum. As an adult I realize he probably gave every kid bubble gum, but back then it was just from him to me!! â¤ï¸ My heart & my prayers are with all of you!
I know he will be greatly missed by his family. I’m praying God’s love and peace surround the family during their time of mourning. He was a wonderful man.
