Madge House Ratchford Treat, age 94 of Marshall, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family and her loving dog, Mimi. She was born in Rock Springs, Arkansas on December 9th, 1925 to James Clementine House and Ora Dell Beavers House. She married Odas Ratchford (her former school teacher) on July 14th, 1946 and to this union, six children were born. They enjoyed 42 years together until his death on January 1st, 1988. She later married Doyce Treat on March 13th, 1999 and they enjoyed 18 years together until his passing on August 4th, 2017.
Madge attended Red Oak Church for most of her life and later attended the Lord's House of Prayer. She loved to sing gospel songs and enjoyed writing poems about things that were dear to her heart, such as writing poems for the Christmas Programs at church and for various family members. Madge enjoyed working with her cattle, fishing and working in her garden when she was able. She also enjoyed family gatherings every chance she got. Over the years, she enjoyed the company of her loving canine companions: Tiny, Lady and Mimi.
Madge is survived by her children, Janice and the late Venson Jones, Delora and the late James Barnett, Rhonda and Allen Brock, Duane Ratchford, Shelia Ratchford and L.C. Ratchford; step-children, Paul Treat, Sam Treat, Glenda Baird, Vickie Cotton, Deborah Massey, Donna McCoy and Tracy Morrison; grandchildren, Renee` Tilley, Scott Barnett, David Brock, Tabitha Barnett and Darryl Brock; great-grandchildren, Lacie Springstead, Bethany and Ava Brock, Carson and Kinley Brock; one great-great grandchild, Raylan Springstead; and her beloved dog, Mimi whom she loved dearly.
Madge is preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Ora House; her husbands, Odas Ratchford and Doyce Treat; siblings, Myrtle Coulson and Charlie Floyd House; and sons-in-law, James Barnett and Leon Venson Jones.
Graveside services for Madge will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 28th, 2020 at Marshall Memorial Gardens in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Allen Brock and Bro. Duane Ragland officiating. Visitation will be held at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall from 12:00-1:00 PM preceding the graveside service. Bearers will be Niagle Ratchford, David Brock, Darryl Brock, Charles David House, Jimmy Lynn Horton and Kevan Holder. Honorary bearer will be Michael Ratchford.
Roller-Coffman Funeral Home is complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines for COVID-19 and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 50 people at one time. We are practicing social distancing and have limited seating. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

So sorry to hear this.It's hard on the one's left behind.We had a good visit with Madge awhile back she told us stories about growing up and about Aunt Ora.She said Aunt Ora always lovingly called my Dad Brother to whomever she was talking to she didn't call him Allen. Madge will be missed.
I am saddened to hear about our cousin Madge passing away. She will be missed. Take comfort that she is now in the arms of Jesus.
