Presley Leon Galloway was born May 4, 1962 in Heber Springs, Arkansas and passed away September 22, 2020 in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Presley was an avid outdoorsman who was more at home on a river or in a forest than he was in the many homes that he built during his career as a master carpenter. For the past several years, Presley was a fishing guide on the White River.

He was predeceased by his parents, Clifton and Onie Galloway, and his brother Buel Galloway.

Presley is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lisa Galloway, son and daughter-in-law, Casey Bryant and Catie Galloway, of Mountain View, AR, son Riley Bryan Galloway, of Dallas, TX, and granddaughter Charlee Ann Galloway of Mountain View, AR. He is also survived by his siblings, Sue Brooks of Prim, AR, Eldon Galloway of Mountain View, AR, Grady Galloway of Troy, MO, Gary ''Bud'' Galloway of Edgemont, AR, Rick Galloway of Drasco, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends and family.

Graveside services will be held at Big Springs Cemetery in Newnata, AR on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 3:00 pm with visitation from 2:00-3:00 pm at the cemetery. Due to COVID, social distancing will be observed and masks are requested. Officiating will be Randy Long and Donald Cranor. Pallbearers will be Mark Brooks, Adam Stubbs, Travis Galloway, Dale Galloway, Danny Galloway, and Travis ''Trad'' Stubbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry ''Wolf'' Logan, Randy Crawford, Marty Grant, Tony Passmore, Michael Passmore, and Presley's fellow fishing guides on White River in Cotter, AR.

His name was Presley Galloway. If you live in north central Arkansas you might see his obituary. He passed away on September 22, 2020. He was 58 years old. If you were one of the thousands of people who he guided for on the White River you know who he was. And you will never forget him. What a great guy and a great fishing guide. Few knew him as Presley. Everyone knew him as "Happy." And he was!
His sense of conservation always impressed me. When someone caught a trophy fish it was Happy who handled it like a doctor with a newborn baby. " He can't be out of the water any longer than you can be under water." And it was always clear that after a picture the fish was going back in the river. "That fish will have a story to tell ! "
My kids and wife loved him. Always greeted everybody with a hug. And his one liners were legendary ! " To a trout, moss on your hook is like a hair in your mashed taters." He told my daughter, Ashley, " Girl, you could catch a trout on a dusty road!" And also "Do we need rain Sure do! It's been so dry I caught a fish the other day that had a tick on his face!" And there were countless more !
Happy, thank you my friend. Thanks for your patience, your dedication, your love of the river and your love of mankind. I cannot imagine you not being on that river. But I am guessing the next time I am on the White I'll see you. I'll see you on the bluffs, I'll see you in our favorite spots and I'll hear your laugh moving up and down that river. Memories may be all we have now, but you made them so very wonderful.
