Rosa Barksdale, 87, of Jonesboro, passed away, Saturday, September 12, 2020, at her residence. She was born March 17, 1933, in Topeka, Kansas, to Fred and Mary Kathrina Lorenz.

Mrs. Barksdale was a founding member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and past president of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA).

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband of 65 years, John Jenkins Barksdale; brother, Ed Lorenz and sister, Alvina Eck.

Survivors include, sons, Kenneth John (Nancy) Barksdale of Thibodaux, Louisiana and Kevin Louis Barksdale of Jonesboro; daughters, Anita Pauline Keller of Little Rock, Linda Darlene (Scott) Spurlock of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Alan Paul Keller, Eric Ryan (Sarah) Keller, Amanda Marie Spurlock, Brian Neal Spurlock, Austin John Barksdale, Kyle Anthony Barksdale; great grandchildren, Katie Marie Keller, Ryan Austin Keller, Joseph Alan Kellenberger; brother, Fred (Judy) Lorenz; sister, Esther Cleason.

After graduating, Rosa worked at The Letter Shop in Sacramento, California. Following her marriage, she was a homemaker and enjoyed crafting, sewing, reading, stained glass, cake decorating, pinochle, bunko and bingo. She also enjoyed spending time with family during the holidays and volunteering with nursing home residents.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 17, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, at 2:00 pm with Rosanne Askland officiating. Burial follows at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation Thursday precedes services from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
