Louis Conway Cook, 88, was born on February 12, 1932 in Rosie, Arkansas to Herman Cook and Gladys Kramer Cook.
He went to be with his Heavenly Father on September 9, 2020, and his wife Wanda of 65 years that passed away three weeks prior to his death.
He was a member of the Rosie Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. Conway never met a stranger. He always wanted people to know he was from Rosie, Arkansas, where he helped build several houses. He could also fix anything he set his mind to.
Conway liked to fish, bird hunt, and spend time with his family. He especially loved spending time and going places with his only grandson, Jonathan. Conway served his country in the United States Army from November 1952 to October 1954.
After returning home, Conway worked for J.B. Kramer Grocery Company for 16 years. Gaining experience in the grocery business led him to buy and operate Cook's Grocery for 14 years. After leaving the grocery business, he sold cars for 15 years and gained many loyal customers. Conway retired as a door greeter at Wal-Mart with three years of service.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Hix and son-in-law, Charley Hix Jr. of Batesville; grandson, Jonathan Hix and wife, Brittinie of Batesville; two great-grandchildren, Payton and Greyson; two brothers, Jackie Cook (Ruth) of Rosie, Gene Cook (Sheila) of Batesville; one niece, Tracey Owens (Adam) of Newark; one great niece, Addison Owens of Newark; one aunt, Mildred Arnold, and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife.
Pallbearers are Adam Owens, Kirk Miller, Joey Massey, Kenny Kramer, Bobby Kramer, and Tommy Kramer. Honorary pallbearers are David Pankey, G. L. Kramer, Max Edwards, Tony Rushing, Steve Kramer, and Billy J. Kramer.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, September 11, 2020 at the funeral home.
Graveside services will begin at 10:00am Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Maple Springs Cemetery in Rosie under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Farrell Miller Sr. officiating.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor visitation attendance to 50 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering and social distancing will be observed.

So sorry to hear of Conway and Wanda's passing. I have fond memories of them growing up in Rosie. Always loved getting to stop at the store for a orange push up or sitting in Wanda's salon while she fixed my Great Grandmothers hair. They will be missed.
