Life's Journey
Georganne Lewis entered into this world on November 19, 1948 to the late George E. Lewis and Almeda Mae Watts Lewis in St. Louis, Mo. Georganne and family moved to Hot Springs, AR. in 1958 where she received her education. She received her Master's Degree from UALR. She moved to Little Rock in 1972 as a licensed social worker for the Department of Human Services. She was employed with the Department of Human Services for over 38 years when she retired due to health issues in 2007.
Georganne loved her family, friends, and animals. A single lady with no children, she was always willing to help others, never complaining. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents. To cherish her memory, Georganne leaves behind a cousin, Carol (Robert) Schultz of St. Louis, Missouri. Her special friend Marzell Hampton for over fourteen years.
Georganne Lewis made her transition Sunday, September 6, 2020. A Graveside Service will be held, 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 11 at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, AR. COVID 19 regulations will be followed: masks worn, six-foot distancing, etc.
The only truly dead are those who have been forgotten. Old Jewish saying
Georganne, while it has been years, you will not be forgotten. John & Elaine Watts
I worked with Georganne for a number of years and was always impressed with her professionalism and her desire to do the very best she could for the clients with the children and families with whom she worked. She was an asset to the Division of Children and Family Services. I know many people will miss her.
