Enrrietthy Mayorga de Monterrey, 75, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2020, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on June 16, 1956, in Masaya, Nicaragua, to the late Ulises Mayorga and Gloria Tuckler. Born and raised in Nicaragua,
Enrrietthy fled the communist revolution in Nicaragua and brought her family to the United States to protect them and offer them a better life. Educated and trained as a teacher, she loved children and enjoyed arts and crafts with her grandchildren.
She was young at heart and loved singing and telling jokes alongside her late husband, Guillermo Monterrey. She adored her husband and cared for him until his last days on Earth.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Enrrietthy is survived by her son, Leonardo Monterrey; her daughter-in-law, Cristina Monterrey; her stepchildren, M. Cecilia Benavente, Guillermo A. Monterrey, Sr., Rolando Monterrey, Sr., and Jorge Monterrey; her grandchildren, Catalina Monterrey, Jackie Monterrey, Jorge Benavente, Daniel Benavente, Eduardo Benavente, Guillermo A. Monterrey, Jr., Yilda Monterrey, Alan Monterrey, German Monterrey, Rolando Monterrey, Jr., Mario Monterrey, Tahereh DeLeon, Saeed Monterrey, Jorge J. Monterrey, Ligia Monterrey, Miguel Monterrey, and Alvaro Monterrey; and 14 great-grandchildren.
