Dolores Jean Bodry

March 20, 1938 - August 25, 2020

Dolores Jean Bodry, 82, of Tyronza, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2020. Dolores was born on March 20, 1938 to Mr. William Barrington and Mrs. Bessie Belton Barrington.

Mrs. Bodry had a passion for music early in her life. Dolores was pianist for her church at a young age of 12, and then at 15 she began playing the organ, as well. After years of playing at church, she began to share her talent with others as a piano teacher. She was a music teacher at several local schools. One of her passions was loving all children.

Dolores leaves behind two sons, James David Bodry of Tyronza, Arkansas and Mark Christopher Bodry of Memphis, Tennessee; one grandson, David Bodry; two great grandchildren, Riley Jean Bodry and Grayson Abram Bodry; and one sister, Marlene Kirby of Benton, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Bodry; her parents; her two sisters, Willie Mae Bianci and Helen B. Smith; and one brother, James W. ''Bubba'' Barrington.

She will be forever missed by all those blessed to know her.

God Bless Mrs. Bodry, she was my music teacher in the 70's in Tyronza...I don't recall any student not loving her class, her music or her. Ms. Bodry was so very sweet, I remember she was married to the local milk man, Stuart Bodry and at Christmas time, she had her house & yard impeccably decorated for the season. She always had the most beautiful white hair, even has a young woman which never made her look old, just elegant. RIP.

Mrs. Bodry was a sweet godly lady. I saw her last year at First Baptist Church when they had their 100th year celebration, last time I saw her. She still played the piano so well. I always loved to hear her play the organ & piano. She was a great music teacher. I still sing some of the songs in my mind that I learned from her when I was in school. Everybody that knew Mrs. Bodry loved her deeply. She will be greatly missed in the community of Tyronza. She is now rejoicing in Heaven and walking on the streets of gold. In all the years I have known Mrs. Bodry, I never once saw her mad. She always had a smile on her face. She never met a stranger. Mrs. Bodry, we love and will miss you dearly...

What a beautiful soul. Mrs. Bodry touched so many lives in Tyronza, Lepanto, and other communities in our area. I honestly can't think of anyone in my lifetime that had more of an impact. She genuinely cared for others especially her students. She was always so positive and you never saw her without a smile on her face. I'm sure she's playing glorious music in Heaven today. Rest in peace and prayers for comfort for the family.

Tyronza has lost a great lady... Always a smile on her face and can make that piano sing... The Good Lord has blessed me just by knowing her (and being her neighbor) and listening to her play.. She was my music teacher my senior year in high school (1972).. May God give comfort to all of her friends and family..
