Ronald Joseph Beckmann, 74, of Batesville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020. He was born in Jefferson City, Missouri to Anthony "Tony" Beckmann and Cyrilda (Scholten) Beckmann.
He was a 1964 graduate of Batesville High School where he played football for the Batesville Pioneers. He attended Arkansas State University. He served as Boy Scout Leader for Pack 132 in Harrison, Arkansas for several years. Ron retired as an Engineer from White Rodgers and was a retired Hero from the Gulf War with the 142nd unit of the Arkansas Army National Guard.
Ron was man of Catholic faith and loved his family. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, taking trips together and enjoying life. He took pleasure in the simple things like feeding his hummingbirds and starting his next project. He was proud of being a father and grandfather. Ron left a wonderful legacy on this earth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Beckmann; one sister, Shirley King; three brother-in-laws, Lavon Dickey, Jim Smith and John Lacefield; and one niece, Rachel Dickey.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Linda (Dickey) Beckmann of the home; three children; daughter, Christie Westmann (Courtney) of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Scott Beckmann of Baltimore, Maryland, and daughter Amber Muehlbach (Doon) of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Lilly Beckmann, Ella Beckmann, Asher Westmann, and Avery Westmann; one sister, Mary Jo Lacefield of St. Charles, Missouri; one brother-in-law Dr. Dwaine Dickey of Rogers, Arkansas; nieces and nephews, Stuart Smith (Carol) of Batesville, Susan McGarry of St. Charles, Missouri, Michael Smith of St. Peters, Missouri, Sandi Kochel (Everett) of Wentzville, Missouri, Steve King (Diane) of Broomfield, Colorado, David King (Jean) of Little Rock, Carol McGrory of Okeechobee, Florida, Lauren Dickey of Decatur, Georgia; and a host of family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Dwaine Dickey, Doon Muehlback, Stuart Smith, Michael Smith, Scott Beckmann, Asher Westmann, Roger Burgess, Danny Burgess, Jerry Burgess and Eugene Burgess.
Graveside services will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with David Burgess officiating.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines; all attendees must provide and wear their own masks and social distancing will be observed.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends. I worked at Emerson in Harrison and got to know Ron while working there . Ron was a great guy and he would share stores with the department I work in. Sometimes he would be our boss if our boss was not there. It was really a great pleasure of knowing him that 10 years I worked there. RIP solider Ron!!!
I was saddened to hear of Ron’s passing. My condolences to the family. I served several years with him in the National Guard, to include Desert Storm. He was a wise and brave man, and a good friend.

Linda I'm so sorry for your loss & everyone that loved him. He was one of my favorite bosses at WR, he helped me thought some hard times in my life, he was always there to listen to my problems & never judged me. I would see him in hes yard & would stop in the road & we would catch up. He was a dear friend.

Linda, Please know that we are praying for all of you after learning of Ron's death yesterday. Brought back some memories and stories about our times together selling real estate . Ron always had us laughing.

Loved Mr. Ron...I worked with him at White Rodgers. You could always see him out working in his beautiful yard and home. Always had a smile for you. I am so very sorry for your loss. Love and prayers for your family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ronnie's passing. I worked with him at WR for several years. He was my supervisor before you moved to Harrison and when you returned home also. I had no idea that he was sick and am so sorry that I didn't get the chance to tell him that I appreciated him while at WR. My prayers for you and your children. May God give you peace in knowing he is in a better place.
