Roy Matthews, Jr, 84, of Bassett, Arkansas, passed away August 11, 2020. He was born January 28, 1936 in Joiner, Arkansas to Roy F. and Nellie Matthews.

He was a retired Mechanic for John Deere Implement Company and of The Church of Christ Faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Betty Ruth Matthews; son: Roy Oliver Franklin Junior Matthews; daughter: Nellie Ruth Newman; granddaughter: Tracy Gordon and two brothers.

He is survived by his sons: Troy (Penny) Matthews and Johnny Hillegas; daughters: Betty (Troy) Douglas and Betty Sue "Bo" Smith; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be on Thursday, August 13,2020 at 10:30am at Bassett Cemetery in Bassett, Arkansas.
