Harold T. Copeland, 75, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020 with his wife Donna at his side. Harold was born April 13, 1945 in Dallas, Texas, son of Edgar and Foy Copeland.

He loved his grandchildren and attended all their events, enjoyed riding motorcycles and traveling across the country with his wife, and delighted in teaching his children how to play chess. His family loved when he played Santa Claus at Christmas. Harold had an infectious laugh that will always be remembered and a collection of wild socks.

Harold served our nation in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart. He was a CPA and MBA and worked at Johnson Regional Medical Center as a Controller for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Foy Copeland and nine siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna (Waldo) Copeland; his three children, Jody and wife Donna Kay Copeland of Lamar, Tara and husband Andrew Eastwick of Los Angeles, CA, and Richard and wife Shanna Copeland of Van Buren; his seven grandchildren, Christopher Copeland, Carly and husband Aaron Ashlock, Jeremiah Copeland, Savanna Copeland, Maggie Eastwick, Rayce and wife Angel Montgomery, and Scott Montgomery; brother Cecil Copeland and sister Pearl Mann, both of Texas; mother-in-law Butch Waldo; brother-in-law Danny and wife Sharon Waldo, as well as many other family members and friends.

Prayers for family in these trying times. I was a friend of Harold in the early 60's and attended Woodrow Wilson HS with him. I am saddened to hear of his passing and emotional with the flood of memories.

Harold was such a bright light in all the lives he touched. We were very blessed to know him through Tara. We loved seeing him at all of Maggie's birthday parties and countless holiday gatherings. We will miss him. Sending all of our love and support to the entire family.
