Karen Benton

of Flippin, AR

January 31, 1956 - August 1, 2020

Karen Lynnell Benton, age 64 passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2020. She was born on January 31, 1956 to the late Grady and Dee Gray in Conway, Arkansas. She grew up on the family farm in Bruno, Arkansas and later married her highschool sweetheart, Bert Benton, on April 5th, 1975.

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Through the years she worked at a local bank and at Ranger Boats in Flippin where she touched the lives of many people; however, her favorite position was as a homemaker where she joyfully cared for her family especially her five grandsons. She was a humble and kind Christian woman and a devoted prayer warrior consistently and passionately lifting others up in prayer. She loved her church family and served as a Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher, and mentored young Christians. She loved well, shared joy, showed kindness, and genuinely cared for others.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband of the home; one brother Terry (Melissa) Gray of Bruno; her two sons Daniel (Stephanie) Benton of Harrison, and Jeff (Gwen) Benton of Flippin; her five precious and loved grandsons: Grady, Luke, Garon, Evan and Grayson Benton; two aunts Betty Osborn and Jean Stephenson of Conway; one uncle David (Janice) Davis of Bruno; two nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Pallbearers include: Paul Gray, Ron Proctor, Seth Gray, Brett Gray, Everett Benton, and Lenny Benton.

Honorary Pallbearers include her five grandsons whom she dearly loved.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Flippin, Arkansas with Bro. Aaron Lindsey and Bro. Steve Martin officiating.

Interment will follow at Bruno Cemetery in Bruno, Arkansas.

Because of our concern for our community and the families we serve, we at Roller-Burns Funeral Home are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and are encouraging everyone to practice social distancing and wear masks at all times.

Our hearts are hurting and rejoicing. Hurting because we will miss our dear sweet Karen and rejoicing because she is with her Savior. Karen was truly an example of how we should all strive to live our lives. She was as kind, loving, patient and compassionate with all the children in our church as she was with her own precious grandsons. She leaves a legacy that her family can be proud of. Prayers for peace and comfort to Bert, Dan, Jeff and all her family.

It is with great sorrow that I say goodbye to Karen. Even as a young girl she was a wonderful and kind soul. She always had a kind word and smile for everyone. Rembering her is sweet. Her and Debbie and Vicky were always a great set. My heart breaks for them as well. I know she is already in the sweet arms of JESUS and with loved ones gone before. Looking forward to seeing you again Sis. My prayers are with het family....

I am heartbroken to hear about Karen. She was a mentor to many (including myself) and someone that I tried to model my for my Christian walk. I am incredibly grateful for my time with Karen and she will always hold a special place in my heart. Bert, Dan, and Jeff, I’m praying for you all as you try to process this tremendous loss. There will never be another like Karen Benton. Heaven has gained one of the best and I can’t wait to see her again in Glory. Love to you all.
