Agnes Inez House

of Little Rock, AR

October 10, 1934 - July 25, 2020

Agnes Inez House, age 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 25, 2020, surrounded by family. She was born on October 10, 1934 in Dallas county, Ark. to Max and Cora Alexander, the baby of ten siblings. She met the love of her life, Cecil L. House and they were happily married for 67 years. She was always humbly serving others and was the best pie baker, even winning a blue ribbon at the Arkansas State Fair for her apple pie. She retired from Pulaski County Special School District where she used her cooking skills in the school cafeteria. She was a long time faithful member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and is fondly remembered as the most gracious and kind lady anyone could ever know. Even in the midst of her Alzheimer's disease, she still maintained a smile and grateful heart for her family, friends and caregivers.
She is survived by her faithful husband, Cecil L. House, her son, Dennis (Rhonda) House of The Villages, Fl., and her daughter, Laura (Eric) Spangler of Bryant, Ark., eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother, Johnie Alexander of Maumelle, Ark., and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Cecilia Rounsavall, and infant great granddaughter, Natalie Newberry.
If you wish to make a memorial gift, the family requests it be made to the Alzheimer's Association, online at act.alz.org or by mail to 10201 W. Markham, Ste. 100, Little Rock, AR 72205.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 28, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. All Covid-19 guidelines will be followed. A video of the service will be posted online. Interment will be at Holly Springs Cemetery, Holly Springs, Ark., with graveside service at approximately 3:30 PM. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhomes.com/drummond

She sounds like she was the embodiment of kindness and good deeds. I only know her through my former boss and friend Dennis, and his wife Rhonda; who are some of the best people I know. The apple doesn’t fall from the tree. And knowing Dennis and Rhonda confirms this point. My condolences go out to the entire extended House family, and I wish her a peaceful place in heaven.

Our Lady Inez was called "The fruits of the spirit" by her children in a letter when we honored her with a breakfast at church. She is all that, I will never forget this precious child of God. Heavens gain, Our Loss.

It has been many years since I've seen Aunt Inez or Uncle Cecil. I remember going with my mother, Mary Anne Gurnsey Rogers, to visit them both when I was young, sitting around laughing while listening to them tell stories, and eating pie. Aunt Inez made the best pies and you could tell she baked with love. She had an incredible laugh and she was one of those people that you couldn't help but to love. She will be greatly missed and even though its been so long, I will always love her and remember what an incredible lady she was.

Mrs. Inez was the sweetest, most kind little lady you'd ever meet. To have gotten to know her over the years, is priceless. Many precious memories of us all being together on a cruise.
