Cpl. Carroll Baker Seaton peacefully departed this world on July 1, 2020, leaving behind his family and friends.
He was born on April 15, 1945 in Sylvania, Arkansas to Otha and Vara Seaton. He grew up on a dairy farm, and then he moved to Batesville in 1970.
On January 1, 1969, at the age of 23, he was sworn in as an Arkansas State Trooper, a career that Cpl. Seaton took seriously until his retirement, 25 years later in 1994.
Revered as an honest and honorable man, he was a fair-minded law enforcement officer. He was also brave, kind, just and loving.He was a mentor and a hero to many and a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He loved being a grandfather to his three grandchildren above all things, but he also had a passion for hunting quail.
His parents and his older brother, Eddie N. Seaton, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Brenda Goforth Seaton; two sons, Wade Seaton and Jason Seaton (Laura); 3 grandchildren, Luke Seaton, Sophie Seaton and Alyx Keller, all of Batesville; and a sister Darlene Seaton Byrd of Doniphan, MO.
Pallbearers are Luke Seaton, Calvin Fairchild, Mike Hatfield, W.O. Husky, Gary Hilburn, and Shawn Stephens.
Honorary Pallbearers are Joe Overstreet and Ricky Wilson.

I am so sorry for your loss. My sincere condolences to the entire Seaton family. I remember Carroll when he began his tour of law enforcement with the ASP. I was a part time dispatcher in Batesville during my time in Batesville and knew him quite well. He was always respected and admired for his professionalism..

So sorry for your loss. I knew Carol back in the 70's and 80's. Carol was a great trooper and a great man.
We would like to express our condolences to the family at this time of your loss.
My late husband, JW Wammack, spoke very highly of Trooper Seaton. The two of these great officers worked together in many incidents. I'm sure they have many stories to share in Heaven. Praying for the family.
