Bedford E. Duren, 62, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, formally of Kansas City, Missouri passed from this life, Friday, June 19, 2020 in Fort Smith. He was born April 16, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri to his parents, Forrest A. Duren and Rhea (Meeks) Duren.

He worked for a 7-11 convenience store in Kansas City where he worked his way up from cashier to store manager. His love for his family was his most important quality. He loved his wife and children more than anything, he would always put them first, making sure that each one had what they needed. He loved to travel different places and was an avid fan of professional wrestling. He was a very giving person who would give you the shirt off his back to help somebody in need. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bedford was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Rhea Duren, a sister, Patricia Duren and one brother, Paul Dean Duren.

Survivors include his wife of 7 years, Margaretmae Duren of Fort Smith; two sons, Jason Duren of Kansas City, MO and Bedford Duren, Jr. of Fort Smith, AR; and three daughters, Rachel Martin of Kansas City, MO; Elizabeth Duren and Jessica Duren both of Fort Smith, AR; two sisters, Mary Stradford of Grandview, MO; Ruth Fitjurls and husband, Mike of Magazine, AR; three brothers, James Duren and wife, Carmen of Grain Valley, MO; Tommy Duren and wife, Tami of Belton, MO; Steven Duren and wife, Sheila of Bella Vista AR; four grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A family memorial gathering will be held at a later date. He will be placed with his other family members at Glendale Cemetery at that time.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service.
