Jeanette Catherine Wade, 78, a resident of Scranton, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at her home.
She was born August 30, 1941, in Scranton to the late Bernard Charles and Angeline Martha (Kern) Schmitz. Jeanette married Marvin Wade on June 6, 1964, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton. She spent her working years as both a bookkeeper at Circle S Food Stores for numerous years and as a seamstress in her home where she sewed for many customers including local schools and churches. Jeanette was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, both St. Joseph and St. Ignatius Mother's Societies, Legion of Mary at St. Joseph Catholic Church and the choir at St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jaydon Wade, a great granddaughter, Presley Hood and a brother, Harold Bernard Schmitz.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Marvin Wade of Scranton; five sons, Marvin D. Wade and wife, Lisa of Subiaco, Kevin Wade and wife, Tina of Ramona, California, Mark Wade of Scranton, Harold Wade of Scranton and Greg Wade and wife, Ashley of Magazine; four daughters, Angela Dickson and husband, John of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Barbara Geels and husband, John of Scranton, Deborah Vredenburg and husband, Wayne of Paris and Jennifer Grisham and husband, Donald of Scranton; twenty grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and two sisters, Anna Lou Mullen of Jamestown, New York and Florence Frederick of Fort Smith.
Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton.
The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Scranton with Fr. John Miranda officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in Scranton under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris. We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and rosary attendance at St. Ignatius Catholic Church to 130 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.
Pallbearers will be Richard Walker, Marcus Humphrey, Joseph Grisham, Dillon Wade, Robert Hood and Joey Naegle. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
