Mildred Levern Kemp, 93, of Carthage, Mississippi passed away June 11, 2020 at Diversicare of Batesville in Batesville, Mississippi. Born on July 13, 1926 in Leake County, Mississippi to James Eddie & Ludie Barrett Moore. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, working puzzles, watching her favorite shows, gospel singing and the Dallas Cowboys. Her greatest blessings of all was spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. James Eddie Moore & Mrs. Ludie Barrett Moore. Her husband John Wesley Kemp, Jr. of 46 years and husband Ben Houston Carroll of 9 years. Her sister Sudie Pearl Brooks, and brothers Lester Anderson Moore and Bertice James Moore. Her sons George Clifford Kemp and David Lynn Kemp.
She is survived by her sons John Kemp (Edith) of West Memphis, Arkansas. Tommy Kemp (Evelyn) of Carthage, Mississippi. Billy Kemp (Beverly) of Marion, Arkansas. Charles Kemp of West Memphis, Arkansas. Dewayne Kemp (Kim) of Millington, Tennessee. A daughter in law Ruth Kemp of Clarkesville, Arkansas A daughter in law Charice Kemp of Brownsville, Tennessee. A stepdaughter Bettie Nan Hynes of Carthage, Mississippi. Two sisters Margaret Fortenberry of Jackson, Mississippi and Lizzie Ruth Chamblee of Philadelphia, Mississippi. Eleven Grandsons, Six Granddaughters, Thirty-Five Great Grandkids, and Twenty-Five Great Great Grandkids.
Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memphis, Tennessee or Diversicare of Batesville Batesville, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held June 23, 2020 from 12:30PM - 1:30PM at Reformation Church in Carthage, Mississippi with Funeral Services to follow at 1:30PM. Interment will then follow at Reformation Cemetery in Carthage, Mississippi.
