Sonny passed away after battling a rare degenerative illness on June 8, 2020 in his home. He was 60 years old. He was born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, but had lived in Crittenden County for most of his life. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 28 years, Vaniece Chaffin Boone. A loving father to his daughters, Mileah Cobb (Rollins), Kingston Springs, TN, and MacKenzie Boone, Marion and a proud grandfather to two granddaughters, Sadie & Charlotte Cobb.
Kenny worked at Temple-Inland for 35 years followed by 6 years at Arkansas Distributors, before being diagnosed with Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA). Kenny, known as Sonny to family and close friends, was a very active man, he loved running, golfing, hunting, deep sea fishing, and especially spending time with his friends and family. He was fun and quick witted; you would rarely have a conversation that did not end with laughter. He was a steadfast friend to those closest to him. Sonny will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Survivors include his sisters, Linda Sue Kidd, (Jeff) Booneville, MS, Eva Jean O'Neill, Anchorage, AK, Renee Parks, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. His brothers, Larry Boone (Debbie), Marion; Donny Boone, Ecru, MS; Corley Boone, (Jennifer), Gainesville, VA; Gene Darby (Teresa), Timmonsville, SC. He also was a much loved uncle to a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Crittenden Memorial Park Cemetery, 2206 US-64, Marion,AR
Beginning at 10:00 am at the Pavilion, with services at 11:00 am

Lee & I met Sonny & the running crew several years ago at the Harbortown 5k. Many years and races have gone by, but I will never forget the laughter we all shared with Sonny. I am so sorry he is no longer with us. Sonny will be greatly missed.

I worked with Kenny at Temple-Inland’s West Memphis Gypsum Operations for many years and it was always a pleasure. Kenny’s integrity, intelligence and steady manner served him well and earned him the respect of everyone he workedsyruhf with: employees, vendors, customers, truck drivers, etc. My continued prayers for Vaniece, Mileah and MacKenzie, his siblings, children and grandchildren. He will be missed.
