Eugene Jorden, 97, of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2020. He was born on September 3, 1922 in Pangburn, Arkansas to the late Frank and Viola Wall Jorden.

Eugene was a Sergeant in the U.S Army and served as an airplane engine mechanic in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during WWII. He was instrumental in the construction of many churches, leaving his mark across the Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas region. Eugene's personal hobbies included fishing, woodworking and gardening.

He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Jorden Berryhill (Don); grandchildren, Heather Young Esposito (Eddie), Hays Young (Tery), Hilary Berryhill Callaway (Jamie), Hunter Berryhill, Hadley Berryhill Leonard (Randy); greatgrandchildren, Jorden Majeau, Madeleine Majeau, Amelia Esposito and Sebastian Young.

Eugene is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Geneva Hays Jorden; and brothers, Jack, Arnold, Murley, Ervie, Garland and Austin Jorden.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy, Arkansas.

Eugene was a wonderful neighbor and friend. I visited him in his home, a rehab center, assisted living facility and his residence at Fort Roots home for veterans. Dear friend, Rest In Peace.
