Mary Syble Melinda (Treadway) Selby, 100 of Lamar, went to be with her Lord and be reunited in Heaven with her husband on the 82nd anniversary of their marriage, April 16, 2020. She was born June 18, 1919, in Lick, Illinois, to George Treadway and Celia Jane Reynolds, and was married to Ray L. Selby on April 16, 1938 in Lamar. She was a founding member of the Clarksville First FreeWill Baptist Church and at 75 years old in 1994, completed her GED at the Clarksville Adult Education Center, making her their oldest graduate ever. She worked at the Clarksville Shoe Plant before retiring and becoming a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Lawrence Selby; her daughter, Deloris Mae Selby Koetz Lindal; and her grandson, David (Davy) Samuel Koetz, Jr.
She is survived by her three daughters, Helen Selby of Lamar; Elaine Selby Clark of Knoxville; Tammy Selby of Fayetteville; one son, Tim Selby of Fort Riley, KS; 12 grandchildren, Robin Neville of Lamar; Albert Bagsby, Jr. of Lamar; Deven Bagsby of Fayetteville; Paul Neville of Muskogee, OK; Lawrence Ray Neville of Muskogee, OK; Lori (Koetz) Reynolds of Bloomington, IN; Steven Koetz of Sun Prairie, WI; Kevin Koetz of Kenosha, WI; Robert Bertana of Hurst, TX; Greg Bertana of New York Mills, MN; Christopher Bertana of Antioch, IL; and Michael Bertana of Chicago, IL; 23 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Services are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home in Clarksville.
I couldn't attend the funeral of an assisted-living Mary was a real good friend of mine Ray Selby work for me for 20 years and where's the closest of friends. May God bless this family.
