Jack Word Thomas, 73, of Osceola, AR passed away January 3, 2020. He was born January 9, 1946 in Memphis, TN, to William "Bill" and Percy Thomas. He was retired from the City Of Osceola where he worked in Customer Service. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Osceola, a volunteer for Mississippi County Historical Society Coffee Shop and Osceola Animal Shelter. Survivors include his nephews: Larry McCann, Pat (Debbie) McCann and David (Shelley) McCann; niece: Susan (Tom) Enkelmann; cousins: Doctor Joe (Pud) Thomas, Walter (Becky) Thomas, Patricia (George) Crain, Robert Yates, Cecil Overturf, Bobbie Griffith and Rita Davison; and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; partner: James Payne; sister: Billie Sue McCann; aunts and uncles: Alene Crain, Joe and Alyce Thomas, Pleas and Leona Huckaby, Glover and Pauline Yates. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Mississippi County Historical Society or the Osceola Animal Shelter. There will be interment at Ermen Lane Cemetery at a later date.
My aunt June Welborn is very sadden by the passing of her sweet friend Jack. We just found out today of his passing. With covid it has been very hard to access June in the nursing facility. Prior to covid every time I visited we called Jack. Prayers for your family. June loved Jack deeply!
