Sherry Hendrix Smith, 68, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born September 8, 1951, to Wayne and Myrtle Hendrix, in Jonesboro. Mrs. Smith enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was a member of Herman Baptist Church and also attended Central Baptist Church. Sherry retired as secretary for the Arkansas State Police after twenty-five years of service.
Preceding her in death were her father, Wayne Hendrix; brother, Kenneth Hendrix; grandparents, R.C. and Ruby Minton and Richard and Opal Slaven.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-three years, Jim Smith; Mother Myrtle Hendrix; mother-in-law, Barbara Keenan; special cousins, Karen Shirley, Rhonda Ingram, Holly Bennett and their children and Cindy Wilson Greaves.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 30, at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, at 2:00pm with Randy Stimach officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Lanny Shirley, Brett Shirley, Blake Price, Gary Bennett, Rob Ingram and Randy Minton. Honorary bearers will be Terry Whitley, Regina Branch, John Carter and Robert Speer; former and current members of Troop C of the Arkansas State Police. Burial will follow in Herman Cemetery.
Visitation will precede the service from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at the funeral home.
