Wynette Clayton, 83 of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born on August 21, 1936 in Pottsville, Arkansas to her parents Norman and Golda (Rickman) White. She worked as a telephone operator while her husband was attending college. Starting in 1971 they opened the Tastee Freez in Paris which they owned and operated it for over nine years. She later worked as a cook in the Paris High School cafeteria where she always enjoyed interacting with the children. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Paris.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Golda (Rickman) White and one brother, Charles White.
She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Archie B. Clayton, Jr. of Paris; two daughters, Valerie Dawn Andrews and husband Roger of North Little Rock and Tonya Nicole Johnson and husband Brian of Subiaco; one son, Stanley Boyd Clayton of Paris; two sisters, Janan Holland and husband Carl of Atkins and Gayle Pelt and husband Don of Dardanelle; seven grandchildren, Bronson Ray Clayton, Melinda Jean Rapp, Travis Boyd Clayton, Trevor Dean Clayton, Cade Johnson, Carsyn Johnson and Carlie Johnson and two great grandchildren, Alexis Clayton and Chance Rapp.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the First Assembly of God Church in Paris.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the First Assembly of God Church in Paris officiated by Rev. Kenny Maness. Burial will follow in Baxley Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Wiggins, Wesley White, Bronson Clayton, Cade Johnson, JR Summers and Randy Hatcher.
Mr and Mrs Clayton served me a bunch of meals at the Tastee Freez. A wonderful couple.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Wynette. I have childhood memories of my parents and Bobbie and Ira Rainwater getting together in the backyard of the Clayton's. Wynette was such a sweet lady with a beautiful smile. May God bless this wonderful family.
