JoAnne Wheeler of McCrory, AR died November 12, 2109 at Unity Health Medical Center in Searcy, AR. She was born in Chicago, IL to Frank and Anna (Jagoda) Schlamadinger on May 8, 1940. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one great grandson Grayson.

JoAnne was of the Catholic faith growing up in Chicago, but moving to Arkansas she became a believer in the Baptist faith.

In 1985, JoAnne received her High School Diploma which was a lifelong dream of hers. She worked many years at the shoe factory in Wynne, AR and several years at the Dollar General Store and BP gas station both in McCrory. She owned her own business in McCrory for some time by the name of Starlight Video.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra (William) Smith of Marion, AR and Paula Hannah of Jonesboro, AR; two sons, Tim (Christy) Wheeler of McCrory, AR and Michael (Sharon) Wheeler of Greenbrier, AR; eleven (11) grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; her great friend who was a very loving person and her personal aide and caregiver, Ms. Emma Turner. She is also survived by numerous family members and friends. She was often called Momma Wheeler and Nanny by many. All the kids that grew up around her loved her. She was a blessing to know and to love. She would give you the last dime she had if you needed it.

Friends will be received at Visitation on November 16, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Morton Baptist Church. The Service will be at 1:00 PM also at Morton Baptist Church in Morton, AR. With Brother Greg Dewitt and Brother Bobby Wheeler (nephew) will be Officiants. Pallbearers will be Jay Atkins, John Wiggins, Gary Harrison, Johnathan Lindsey, Bartley Mannis, and Timmy Jones. Honorary Pallbearer is George Hannah. Interment to be held immediately following at Woodman Cemetery in McCrory, AR. All services under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy.
