of Hughes, AR
February 1, 1964 - October 27, 2019
Sarah Susan Richards passed away Sunday, October 27, 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 55 after a long courageous fight with cancer. Sarah was born February 1, 1964 in Poplarville, Mississippi to parents Francis and Faye Odom. She married Larry Richards in 1987 and the two were able to spend the next 33 years together raising their own family until God called her home.
Sarah was of the Baptist faith and attended Central Missionary Baptist Church in Hughes, Arkansas. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. She was never seen without a smile and awesome attitude toward life and family. Without a doubt, Sarah was a wife, mom, grandmother but probably best known by her family as their hero.
Sarah is survived by her husband Larry, her son Seth Richards (Toni) of Lumberton, Mississippi, her daughter Adrain Atkins (Jesse) also of Lumberton, Mississippi, her sister, Anita VanSlyke (Mark) of Poplarville, Mississippi and two grandchildren who will forever cherish the memories they have, Sydney Atkins and Jaxon Richards. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her infant twin boys; Kevin and Evan Richards, brothers; Danny and Ken Odom and her mother and father in law; Jack and Velma Richards.
Our hearts go out to you during this trying time and may our prayers serve as comfort to you and your loved ones.
Sarah, you and I had so many adventures. We laughed, we cried, we argued and we made up. I hate that we lost touch for so many years, but I'm glad we got to say I love you one last time. You will be missed. Give my Daddy a big hug!
Fly high, my friend. God, please bless this family, ease this heartbreak and loss.
