of Little Rock, AR
August 2, 1948 - June 24, 2019
Kenneth ''Ricky'' Hartsell, 70, of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 24, 2019. He was born on August 2, 1948 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to Ollie Jack Hartsell, Sr. and Illa Elizabeth Hartsell. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Christine Hartsell; two brothers, James and Dwight Hartsell; and two sisters, Laverne Butler and Shirley Hartsell.
Ricky was always uplifting and a joy to be around. He loved everyone and never met a stranger. He loved to sing. He enjoyed playing with Legos, drawing, and collecting cars and trains. He watched Western movies and could imitate many of the actors he saw. He spent his days at the Easter Seals Wellness Center and always came home with a smile.
He is survived by his caregiver for 19 years and sister, Peggy Habig; sisters, Nina McKay and Diana Sue Martineau; brother, Ollie Jack Hartsell, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Mt. Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Rose Bud, Arkansas. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Bethel Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Easter Seals.
I'm so sorry to hear of Ricky’s passing. Loosing a loved one is never easy. I recently lost both my parents. After my losses, reading Revelation 21:3,4 gave me real comfort. It says: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” And Isaiah 25:8 promises: “He(God) will swallow up death forever.” God’s word offers us real hope for those who have died. I hope reading these verses also gives you a degree of comfort and hope during this difficult time. jw.org

Jennifer was sad to hear that we lost Ricky. She knew him from working at the Easter Seals Adult Training and Wellness Center, in Little Rock, and, from other activities, around Arkansas.
Ricky will be missed by all who knew him, as a sweet, and, friendly guy. He enriched our lives in so many ways, and, we were blessed to have known him.
Condolences to his family and friends. Ricky will live on, in our hearts.
