Janie Mae Deaton, 75, of Marked Tree, passed away February 7, 2019, in Jonesboro, AR. She was born April 10, 1943 to Roland Oscar and Thelma Thompson. She was Homemaker and a member of Red Oak Baptist Church in Marked Tree. She loved to care for children and teach them in Sunday School. In addition to her own children and grandchildren, she was influential in the young lives of 4 special kids: Joe Deaton, Will Coburn, John and Mary Cagle. She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Larry Deaton; son: Larry Paul (Felicia) Deaton of Cherokee Village; daughter: Laura (Greg) Rooks of Jonesboro; grandchildren: Mallorie Deaton of Jonesboro and Taylor Deaton of Cherokee Village; sisters: Betty (Bobby) Kennedy of West Memphis, Mary (Bill) May of Hickory Ridge, Rebecca Lawson of Greers Ferry, JoAnn Ott of Greers Ferry, Susan (Dewayne) Kennedy of Bryant and Kathy (Jerry) Lee of Wynne; brother: Roy Lee (Betty) Thompson of West Memphis, Perry (Linda) Thompson of Athens, GA and Robert (Diane) Thompson of Marion. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Eugene Thompson, Bobby Gene Thompson and Freddie Thompson.

Larry, Laura, and Buddy,
