Jimmie Odell Martin Wages, 83, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Baptist Desoto in Southaven, Mississippi. Ms. Jimmie was born October 2, 1935 in Houston, Mississippi to Jim Martin and Ethel Griffin Martin.
Ms. Jimmie is survived by three sons, Charles Randy Wages (Rachel) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Jeffery Martin Wages (Tracey) of Helena, Arkansas and Michael Carroll Wages (Tina) of West Helena; grandchildren, Brandy Thorton (Chris), Daniel Wages, Hannah Wages, Jeremy Wages (Star), Josh Wages, Talyn Wages, Madison Wages, Jennifer Hall (Aaron), Torey Wages, Lauren Warren (Chad), Bobbi Ling, ''Ken'' Ho-kan cho; great-grandchildren, Shyanne Thorton, Cole Wages, Kaylee Von Kanel, Liam Warren, and Indie Warren; two brothers, Johnny Martin (Peggy) and Mack Martin (Faye); two sisters, Louise Hill (David) and Rita Buford. And a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Charles A. Wages; son, Sandy Wages; great-grandson, Glen- Michael Thorton; brother, Aaron Martin; and brother-in-law Nig Buford.
She loved spending time with family and her cats, watching westerns, and work in her flower beds.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Wages, Josh Wages, Torey Wages, Talyn Wages, Daniel Wages, Michael Buford and Adam Buford. Honorary bearers, Ming Ling, Ho-kan cho ''Ken'' and Chad Warren.
Services will be Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Roller-Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Roller-Citizens has charge of arrangements 508 Plaza (870) 572-2571.

Miss Jimmie was one of a kind! She always made me feel good when she waited on me at August Moon - always a smile on her face. What a treat to go for breakfast! No doubt she really loved her family. Dearest family, So sorry to hear of your loss. Miss Jimmy was an incredible woman, and was so good to the bone, caring about people and always upbeat and encouraging. To all Ms Jimmie’s family, I was so saddened to see this in the paper today. She was the sweetest person and she & John always had the best time visiting when he went in August Moon. He thought so much of her. Now they are together in Heaven still having a good time with many laughs. And she always spoiled Landon. I will miss her! Prayers for the family.

I have known Jimmie and her family for 61 years. At one time we were neighbors . I am so sorry to learn of her death. She was one of those rare individuals that we do not see much anymore; good, forgiving, kind, honest, sincere, easy to meet and talk to..and very hardworking, and I am sure, to her family, very lovable. I am sorry that I cannot attend her service, but I will always remember her and Charles.
