June 13, 1925 - January 13, 2019
Dewey Kenneth Davison went to be with his Savior on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at his home. He was born to Jim and Rosa on June 13, 1925. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne Vaughn Davison, parents Jim and Rosa Davison, brothers Luther Davison, Bernis Davison, Hollis Davison, Elvis Reed, Clemon Hendon, and sisters Lorene O'Neal, Lera Bevis, and Flossie Hendon Owen. He leaves his son, Rick Davison of Seattle, Washington, daughters Sharon (John) Worlund of Osceola, and Janet (Eldon) Walker of Wilson; granddaughters Jennifer (Kelly) Mills and children Halee and Kaleigh of Jonesboro and Tracy (Daniel) Casebier and children Carly, Walker, and Judd of Harrisburg; brother Kenneth (Rita) Davison and Deborah (Allen) Robertson, Joyce (Jimmy) Reece and Linda Godsey, all of Osceola. A very special friend James (Jim) Wells. Dewey was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army and a member of the battle tested 182nd infantry. He completed two tours of service, one at the Pacific Theater in combat with the Japanese as a first scout and squad leader and was asked to re-enlist to help with the cleanup operations in Japan. Dewey worked at American Greetings where he retired after 26 years. Dewey was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served his Lord and Savior as a Deacon, Chairman of Trustees, as well as Brotherhood and teacher of Boys Training Union class.
Drexel & Betty Rich Hendon, formerly of Hardin County, TN, Nephew and a great admirer of our Uncle Dewey Davison lit a candle in his memory.
