of Damascus, AR
April 7, 1926 - December 2, 2018
Johnnie Duncan, 92, of Damascus went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 2, 2018. She was born Wednesday, April 7, 1926 in Cleburne County Arkansas to the late John Pernell and Maudie Mae Prater Vaughan. Johnnie was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, James Jarrell Duncan; three sisters, Lenore Gill, Cordia Shea and Lou Vaughan; four brothers, Coy, Venoy, Doyle, and Jerrell Vaughan.
Johnnie was a wonderful, Godly mother and faithful wife. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her. She was kind and gentle, and her door was always open. If you went to her home, she always wanted you to eat something and have coffee or tea. She touched many lives and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, two daughter, Linda (Loy) Bartlett of Heber Springs and Paulette (Larry) Mayfield of Searcy; four sons, Jerry (Glynda) Duncan of Bee Branch, Danny (Mandy) Duncan of Damascus, Sammy (Donna) Duncan of Greenbrier, and Randy (Diana) Duncan of Conway; eight grandchildren, Shelly Gallaway, Dennis Bartlett, Jeff Duncan, Lonnie Duncan, Heath Vaughan, Alan Duncan, Kinsey Blaylock, and Kelly Duncan; twenty five great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth (Norman) Attendorn of Cabot and Pat (David) Canterberry of Mabevale and a host of other family members.
Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, December 3, 2018 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral service will be 1:00pm Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Damascus with Brother Daniel Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Blackwell Cemetery in Bee Branch.
My deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time. I hope the words at Rev.21:4 bring you comfort. It says: "God will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.†Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
