of Osceola, AR
July 28, 1964 - July 19, 2018
Steve Carroll Smith, 53, of Osceola, passed away July 19, 2018. He was born July 28, 1964 to Carroll and Lorene Smith. He was a retired Elementary Teacher of the Osceola School District and a Deacon in the Osceola Church of Christ where he was a lifelong member. Survivors include his wife: Pamela Y. Smith: daughter: Loren Elizabeth Smith of Osceola, AR; his parents; aunts & uncles: Sharon Floyd of Independence, MO, Donna Floyd of Mountain Home, AR, Joe and Barbara Beck of McAlester, OK, Carol Scott of McAlester, OK and Glenda and Mike O'Neal of McAlester, OK and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his son: Lance Carroll Smith, grandparents: Loren and Georgia Beck and Leo and Erma Smith and aunt: Evelyn Carpenter.
Steve was a great teacher for us in elementary school and there was never a dull moment with him. I was watching the news when I was on a ferry and I checked my Facebook to see if it was really him and that is when two storms met me between New Jersey and Delaware and our ferry rocked like crazy but I know that he made sure we was all safe. My prayers go out to his family, friends, and former students and teachers. He was such a great teacher, mentor, husband and father.
Sincere condolences go out to the family. May the promise found at Acts 24:15 and Psalm 37:29 provide you with a measure of comfort and hope at this difficult time.
To the Smith Family;
I don't know if there are any words that help in this time only that God knows your hearts and the hurt that you feel for your loss. Jesus says in John that He will never leave us comfortless, we just have to believe. May all the family be comforted by the many warm thoughts of those who care. Our prayers are with the whole family.
Smith Family,
Ken and I cannot imagine your loss. It is easy to say we do, but it is really heartbreaking to think of losing a husband, a son, son & a grandson. I know you are really good people and you have your church, but I wanted you all to know that others have had you in our prayers!

Thankfully, they are both with God!!
Thinking of you and your family during this sad time. Mr. Smith was one of my teachers when I was in school and he was a good guy. I'm sending my prayers up. May God bless your family and friends
I'm so sorry for your loss. I've been praying for you & the other families that lost their loved ones that day. May God comfort you like no other can.
Prayers as you grieve and try to assimilate a new normal. I am a member of the church in Dyersburg, TN and also widowed relatively young. Lean on God, family and friends in the days and weeks to come.
Sending condolences and prayers to Pam and Loren Smith.
May our Lord bless and comfort you and your family during this time of grief. Please accept my sincere condolences
I want to send our personal condolences to you and your daughter. We go to the Curry Street Church of Christ in West Plains, MO. We don't know you personally but we wanted to let you know we have been praying for everyone affected by this tragedy. We will continue to pray in the days to come.
I do not personally know your family, but I can only imagine what you are experiencing at this time
It will take some time to wrap your mind around what happened. Take comfort in the hope that is held out in God's word the Bible
God promises at Revelation 20:12 and 13 that there is going to be a resurrection. Other Scriptures that have comforted me are at Acts 24:15. Jehovah is a God of love, and he sees your pain. He promises at Job 14:15--"You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands."
Pam, I am so sorry for your loss. I am thinking about you. Class of 1982
Our thoughts and prayers are with Pam, Loren, family, and friends.
