Charles Roy Fowler

Charles Roy Fowler, Jr., 81, of Weiner died Friday, May 3, 2013 at St. Michael's Healthcare Center in Newport. He was born the son of Charles C. Fowler and Martha McDaniel Fowler of Weiner on August 1, 1931. He loved hunting, fishing and cooking with his friends. He was a member of Weiner Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Castanita Street Fowler; his parents, Charles and Martha Fowler; his daughter, Rebecca Fowler; his son, Charles H. Fowler; and his sister, Margaret Swain.

Survivors include his granddaughters, Niki Fowler Simpson and her husband Eric, and Brittany Fowler, all of Cabot; two great-grandsons, Cooper and Carter Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home Chapel in Weiner with Dan Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Frank Fulmer, Allen Soden, Grant Strob, David Schwartz, Tony Sullins and Donald Greeno. Honorary bearers will be Michael Schisler, Tommy Wofford, Sally Wofford, Charles Givens, Jackie Keefer, Charles D. Fowler, Harold Bryant, Lohnes Tiner, Dr. Randall Hunt, S.P. Schwartz, Lynn Digs, and his friend, Shirley Wilson and Rodger Sullins.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.

The family requests that lasting memorials be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery Fund or the Weiner Fire Department.
