Elsie Schroer, 92, of Memphis, Died October 31,2011 at Rockford, Ill.

She was a homemaker and a loving, devoted and beloved wife,mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. Some of her favorite things were Azalea gardening, sewing, cooking and baking for her family and friends.

She and her husband,Franklin (Dutch) Schroer,celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 1, 2011.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Schroer leaves two sons, Robert Shears (Sue), of Snow Lake Shores, MS and Larry Schroer and fiancee,Anita Bates of Memphis; three grandchildren, Angela Dorris (Ray) of Memphis, Jason Hickey (Genna) of Charlotte, NC and Carol Turner, of Memphis; four great-grandchildren, Kai Hickey and Kayla Lynn Hickey, both of Charlotte,NC, Christi (Terry) Johnson and Autumn Fernando Rodriques of Memphis; five great-great grandchildren, Alex Tooley, Davis Tolley, Nicholas Tooley, Ethan Rodriques and Ella Rodriques of Memphis and son-in-law Wally Wellman of Cordova. A daughter, Tanya Lynn Wellman, preceded her in death.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers,donations be made in her memory to St. Luke Lutheran Church.

A visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday, November 4, 2011 with an 11 am service Saturday, both at Roller Family Funeral Home.

great sorrow as we learn of Elsie's passing. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all whose life she touched. We were not aware of her illnes but pray for God's grace and mercy on the family.

So saddened to hear of our aunt's passing after such a nice visit with her on Saturday. May God hold you in the palm of his hand during this time of grieving.
