Dean Cossey, age 57, of Redfield went to be with his Lord, Thursday, October 12, 2006. He was born at Parkdale, Arkansas, June 1, 1949, a son of the late Arvle and Evelene Foster Cossey. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, was a United States Army Veteran, and a member of Redfield Sportsman's Club. Dean was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Carty and Marcelle Cossey.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Shelton Cossey of Redfield; two daughters, Leisa Roberts and her husband Mike of Hot Springs and Brittney Cheatwood and her husband Frank of Okinawa, Japan; two brothers and their wives, Leon and Margaret Cossey of Sacramento, California and Clyde and Ginger Cossey of Portland, Arkansas; a sister, Vivian Byrd of Lake Village; three grandchildren, Katilyn Roberts, Austin Roberts and Skyler Cheatwood; and his best friend, Marc Thompson and his wife Katy of Redfield.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel (501-224-8300) with Brother Jim Duffel, his brother-in-law, officiating. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Pallbearers will be Elbert Ray Cossey, Norman Cossey, Kenneth Cossey, Jim Keppel, Bill Littleton and Terry Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Don Howard and Mary Mills, R.N. at VA-MICU.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Monday, October 16, 2006 at the funeral home.
