Amy Denise Barberof Jonesboro, AR
October 5, 1961 - March 20, 2026
Amy Denise Barber, 64, of Jonesboro, AR, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026. Amy was born October 5, 1961, in Jonesboro, the daughter of Billy Ray Stallings and Patricia (Hazelwood) Stallings.
Amy was known for her kind and caring heart and for the way she showed up for the people she loved, again and again, without hesitation. She had a gift for creating, whether she was sewing, stamping, painting, or building something with her hands. If it could be made, Amy would find a way to make it, usually with love woven into every detail. She leaves behind a collection of unfinished projects, a quiet reflection of a life always in motion and full of ideas.
She loved to travel and explore, taking in the world around her and capturing it along the way, often through the lens of a camera, capturing every moment, sometimes several times over.
She also loved to cook and bake, and her kitchen was often a place where people gathered, were fed, and felt taken care of.
Taking care of others wasn't something Amy did occasionally, it was simply who she was. Of all the things she created in life, her greatest joy was her family, especially her two grandchildren, Miller and Bennett, who were the light of their Lolli's world.
Amy was preceded in death by her father, Billy Ray Stallings, and her mother, Patricia (Hazelwood) Stallings. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 45 years, Dale Barber; daughter, Brittney Johnson; grandchildren, Miller Johnson and Bennett Johnson; sisters, Lynn (Gregg) Brandon and Brenda (Lloyd) Brooks; her cherished travel partners and dear friends, Dennis and Regina Jaynes; and longtime friends, Wayde and Glenda Coleman, with whom she shared many games of spades.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Central Baptist Church, 3707 Harrisburg Road in Jonesboro, with Don Blackmore and Jay Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that lasting memorials be made in Amy's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Her love lives on in the family she poured herself into, especially the two grandchildren who meant everything to her.
